**Presbyterian Dominates Valparaiso in Lopsided Home Victory**

**CLINTON, S.C. –** The Presbyterian College football team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, September 23rd, securing a decisive 43-14 victory over Valparaiso University at Bailey Memorial Stadium. The Blue Hose offense was explosive, complemented by a key special teams touchdown, as Presbyterian improved their season record to 2-1. Valparaiso, still searching for its first win, fell to 0-4.

Quarterback Collin Hurst led a multi-faceted Presbyterian attack, showcasing his versatility throughout the contest. Hurst not only threw for two touchdowns but also caught a pass for a score himself. He completed 10 of his 15 attempts for 109 yards and added 27 rushing yards on five carries, keeping the Beacons’ defense off balance.

The Blue Hose ground game was equally potent, spearheaded by Dominic Cipolla. Cipolla gashed the Valparaiso defense for 110 rushing yards on 17 carries, finding the end zone twice with runs of one and ten yards, respectively.

Presbyterian’s special teams also provided a highlight moment when Markell Scott electrified the home crowd with an impressive 62-yard punt return for a touchdown, further widening the margin. Kicker Alex Stadler contributed to the scoring with a successful 24-yard field goal.

Valparaiso managed to get on the scoreboard, with quarterback Michael Appel Jr. completing 16 of 24 passes for 114 yards. He connected with Brandon Sanchez for a 6-yard touchdown pass. Running back Jeffery Phillips added another score for the Beacons with a 1-yard rushing touchdown. However, these efforts were insufficient to counter Presbyterian’s offensive onslaught and defensive pressure.

Both teams are members of the Pioneer Football League (PFL), though this matchup was a non-conference affair. The win provides significant momentum for head coach Kevin Kelley’s Presbyterian squad as they look ahead to their upcoming schedule. For head coach Landon Fox and Valparaiso, the search for a breakthrough victory continues.

Presbyterian will look to carry this winning momentum into their next game, while Valparaiso aims to regroup and turn their season around.
