Heisman Trophy Rankings: Week 11

**RG3 Shakes Up Heisman Race with Marvin Harrison Jr. at No. 1 Ahead of Week 11**

**NEW YORK** – As the college football season enters its critical final stretch, FOX Sports analyst and former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III has released his updated Heisman Trophy front-runners, placing Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. at the top of a list typically dominated by quarterbacks. Griffin III, who won the coveted award in 2011 as a quarterback for Baylor, offers a unique perspective on the race for college football’s most prestigious individual honor.

Harrison Jr.’s ascension to the top spot underscores a season of exceptional performance, even for a non-quarterback. The junior wideout made a resounding statement in Ohio State’s recent victory over Rutgers, hauling in 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Through nine games, Harrison Jr. has accumulated an impressive 59 receptions for 950 yards and 10 scores. His consistent brilliance has been a cornerstone of the undefeated No. 1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (9-0), who face Michigan State next. As the son of NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison Sr., Harrison Jr. has lived up to immense expectations, showcasing elite route-running, hands, and playmaking ability. Should he win, he would be the first wide receiver since Desmond Howard in 1991 and only the fourth non-quarterback or running back in the award’s history to claim the Heisman.

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels holds the second spot on RG3’s ballot, riding a wave of electrifying performances. Despite LSU’s 6-3 record, Daniels put on a spectacular show against Alabama, totaling 372 yards and an eye-popping six touchdowns—three rushing and three passing. His season statistics are staggering, with 3,467 total yards and 36 total touchdowns (2,792 passing yards with 27 TDs, plus 675 rushing yards with 9 TDs). Daniels has emerged as perhaps the most dynamic dual-threat quarterback in the nation, routinely making highlight-reel plays with both his arm and his legs. The Tigers will host Florida in Week 11.

Oregon’s veteran quarterback Bo Nix comes in at number three. Nix has led the No. 6 ranked Ducks (8-1) to a stellar season, establishing himself as one of the most efficient passers in the country. In their recent win over Cal, Nix accounted for 386 total yards and four touchdowns. For the season, he boasts 2,723 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, complementing that with 107 rushing yards and another score. His experience and poise have been crucial for Oregon’s Pac-12 and national championship aspirations. The Ducks are set to clash with USC next.

Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. secures the fourth position. Penix Jr. has been the catalyst for the undefeated No. 5 ranked Washington Huskies (9-0), leading them to a potentially historic season. He delivered a masterful performance against USC, throwing for 369 yards and four touchdowns. On the season, Penix Jr. has amassed 3,218 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, showcasing a powerful arm and excellent chemistry with his receiving corps. His ability to deliver in crucial moments has defined Washington’s success. The Huskies face a tough challenge against Utah next.

Rounding out Griffin III’s top five is Georgia quarterback Carson Beck. As the first-year starter replacing two-time national champion Stetson Bennett, Beck has seamlessly guided the No. 2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs (9-0) to an undefeated record. He demonstrated his leadership and arm talent against Missouri, throwing for 306 yards and two touchdowns. For the season, Beck has tallied 2,713 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, efficiently managing the Bulldogs’ potent offense. Georgia, aiming for a third consecutive national title, will host Ole Miss in their upcoming contest.

The Heisman Trophy race remains highly fluid, with several high-stakes games remaining that could provide “Heisman moments” for these contenders. Quarterbacks often benefit from team success, and the strong records of Ohio State, Oregon, Washington, and Georgia will undoubtedly play a role in voters’ considerations. The Heisman Trophy ceremony is scheduled for December 9th in New York City.
