AP Top 25 Week 10: Top Holds, Rankings Shift Below

**Georgia Holds Unanimous No. 1 in AP Poll as Playoff Picture Intensifies**

**NEW YORK** — Georgia tightened its grip on the top spot in The Associated Press Top 25 poll released Sunday, Nov. 5, following a pivotal Week 10 of the college football season. The Bulldogs (10-0) earned all 62 first-place votes, marking their second consecutive unanimous No. 1 ranking after a hard-fought 30-21 victory over then-No. 12 Missouri.

The top five remained unchanged, underscoring the consistent performance of the nation’s elite. Michigan (10-0) held firm at No. 2 after a commanding 41-13 win against Purdue, followed by Ohio State (10-0) at No. 3, who defeated Rutgers 35-16. Florida State (9-0) stayed at No. 4, securing a 24-7 road victory over Pittsburgh, and Washington (9-0) rounded out the top five after a high-scoring 52-42 triumph against USC. Oregon (9-1) continued its dominant run at No. 6, crushing California 63-19 to maintain its strong playoff contention.

Below the top tier, several teams made significant pushes. Texas (8-1) climbed one spot to No. 7, demonstrating resilience in a 33-30 overtime victory against what was then No. 25 Kansas State. Alabama (8-1) also moved up to No. 8, showcasing an impressive performance in a 42-28 win over LSU where quarterback Jalen Milroe accounted for four touchdowns. Ole Miss (8-1) jumped to No. 9 after beating Texas A&M 38-35 in a crucial SEC matchup.

Penn State (8-1) made a two-spot leap to No. 10 with a dominant 51-15 performance against Maryland, while Louisville (8-1) also advanced to No. 11 after taking down Virginia Tech 34-3. These movements highlight the fierce competition and shifting dynamics as teams vie for conference championship berths and College Football Playoff consideration.

On the other side of the ledger, several high-profile teams experienced significant drops. Oklahoma (7-2) suffered the steepest fall, plummeting eight spots from No. 9 to No. 17 after a 27-24 loss to rival Oklahoma State in the Bedlam Series, effectively dimming their playoff hopes. USC (7-3) also took a substantial hit, dropping six spots from No. 18 to No. 24 following their defensive struggle against Washington. Missouri (7-2) dipped to No. 12 after their loss to top-ranked Georgia, and LSU (6-3) fell to No. 13 after their defeat against Alabama.

Week 10 also welcomed two new teams into the Top 25. Oklahoma State (7-2) made a splash entry at No. 15, propelled by their upset victory over Oklahoma. Kansas (7-2) secured a spot at No. 21, entering the poll after beating Iowa State 28-21 and continuing their impressive season under coach Lance Leipold.

Conversely, a handful of teams exited the rankings this week. North Carolina, UCLA, Fresno State, Kentucky, and Kansas State all dropped out. Kansas State, in particular, fell out after their tough overtime loss to Texas, ending their brief stint in the Top 25.

As the regular season heads into its final stretch, the upcoming weeks promise crucial matchups that will further define the College Football Playoff picture and conference championship races.
