**Heintschel Leads Pitt to Decisive 35-20 Victory Over Stanford**

PITTSBURGH – Quarterback Mason Heintschel delivered a stellar performance this past Saturday, October 19, 2024, leading the Pittsburgh Panthers to a decisive 35-20 victory over the Stanford Cardinal at Acrisure Stadium. Heintschel was the undeniable catalyst for Pitt’s offense, throwing for an impressive 304 yards and completing three crucial touchdowns to secure the win.

The sophomore signal-caller showcased his arm talent early, connecting with wide receiver Bub Means on a 45-yard deep pass in the first quarter to put the Panthers on the scoreboard. Heintschel continued to dissect the Stanford defense throughout the afternoon, adding a second touchdown pass to tight end Gavin Bartholomew before halftime and later finding slot receiver Konata Mumpfield for a pivotal score in the third quarter that extended Pitt’s lead.

Stanford struggled to find consistency on offense. Quarterback Ashton Daniels completed 18 of 32 passes for 210 yards but faced constant pressure from Pitt’s defensive line. The Cardinal managed a few big plays, including a 60-yard touchdown reception, but couldn’t sustain drives against the Panthers’ assertive defense.
